For some reason, today's blog post (Sat 30 August) has decided to appear below yesterday's. Have no idea why!? Just scroll past my 'Autumn Edit' to find it! Thanks for the help! I love you all! xxxxxxxx
Hello people of the universe! I am an autumn fan! (I realise that sounds lame, but bear with me!) I don't know if it's just me who gets that rush of excitement as the first leaves start to turn. (Nope. Just me? Okay.) Nights get longer, days get colder and lipstick gets darker. Oh, I do love bit of autumn! - I know! I'm just too cool! - (Pun intended!)
I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to crisp, early mornings, snuggling under blankets and general autumn-leaf-warm-orange-cold loveliness! (I realise that made no sense!) Let's get started on my autumn edit! Here are 5 makeup items that I will be bringing into my 'daily routine' for the colder months!
1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (£10.99)
My summer foundation staple is, of course, the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation! I absolutely love this stuff, it's brightering, anti-fatigueing (pretty sure that's not a word!) and generally makes my skin look really nice. But I have a problem. I can't wear it in the winter! The foundation contains little tiny bits of glitter (which, credit where credit's due, do make you look more awake) but wear this in the winter and BAM you're a sparkling Edward Cullen! Not the best of looks. Sorry Edward. This Bourjois healthy mix Serum is very light on the skin, doesn't make you look like a sparkly vampire and, if you're looking for a sheer/light coverage, is perfect for winter!
Oh, it's gorgeous! Oh, it's so beautiful! Autumn/winter is the best time to 'rock the blush' (Yep, I just said that! ) This blush is super cute and gives you the desired effect without looking too fake. Though don't go heavy handed! I like to put a bit of powder over top to calm it down. It has a good lasting power and overall is really girly and fresh.
3. Revlon Nail Enamel Bewitching (£6.49)
If like me, you are a bit scared of really dark colours in nails, this is a beautiful autumn/winter shade for you! It is so pretty! I love it so much! I've gone into some kind of nail polish love craze! The formula is amazing and Revlon have come up with a really great range of colours. Keep coming up more of these beautiful colours Revlon, you'll burn a hole in my pocket!
4. Benefit They're Real Mascara!
They're Real is a false-lash effect mascara which is brilliant for people, like me, who CANNOT put false lashes on (Well, without glueing my eyes closed!) It doesn't clump, adds length (not a lot of volume though) and give the desired effect in one coat! If I had to find a fault, it would be in my bottom lashes. This mascara makes them look... twiggy! But on the whole, it is an amazing mascara that is well worth the hype!
5. Rimmel Kate Moss in 110
I am scared of reds. There. I said it. I'm scared of wearing reds. So this colour is perfect for us red noobs. Is that the right term for it? I don't think so! Whatever the term, that's what I am and I'm proud! This is a beautiful pink-red-beautiful-glossy-amazingness (as you can see, I'm great at describing colours!) If you are brave enough, the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107 is a matte, deep red that is beautiful! (I've said beautiful too much now!)
I hope you found that helpful! I love all your sexy faces (comment where that's from) and I'll see you tomorrow! Love ya, Erin xxxx
Hello people of the universe! I know! Everybody and their dog is doing this at the moment. But I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and do a 'Back to School Makeup Tutorial'. Don't mind me! Just being original! For the benefit of you people-of-the-school-time (and my pocket!) I have tried to keep everything from the drugstore. (Well, as much as I can!)
1. Aveeno Moisturising Cream!
Moisturising. Not the most exciting of things, I've got to admit. But seriously, I love this! It sinks into my skin, doesn't break me out or leave my skin feeling oily. If you have sensitive skin, I would highly recommend using this. It stops my 'fake face' (i.e. concealer and foundation) from creasing. (Not sure if that's the right word or not!) and is definitely one of the best moisturisers I've ever tried!
2. Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
If there was a battle between my two favourite concealers, it would be the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer Vs. Collection Lasting Perfection! However, after much deliberation (posh word!) and a round of eni-meni-mymi-mo - Literally, no idea how to spell that! - there was a winner! The Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer is perfect for school because of it's anti-fatigue effect! I've been there: watching YouTube till the crack of 1:30am! It is great for under eye circles cause by late night YouTube fests and finishing books at 3 in the morn'! It's not the best concealer for covering blemishes, but for that I use the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer.
3. Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
Oh jolly gosh! (English joy!) I flippin' love this foundation! It smells like suncream! You have no idea how happy that makes me! It is great for the price (£8.99) and with it's tiny sparkles makes you look nice and awake for school! (Sparkles!) I only use this in places that I think I need coverage, (Nose and cheeks) don't feel like you have to smother your face in foundation!
4. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
This product does exactly what it says on the tin. It helps keep you from 'shining bright like a diamond' and also helps your makeup stay put throughout the day! It is nothing special but it does the job well. Oh, and it's really cheap! Always a plus.
5. Clinique Strawberry Fudge Eyeshadow Duo.
I only use this when I'm going all out! This is not a daily occurrence. But when I do have a bit of time on my hands, I spread the pink shade all over my lid. (up to the crease) Ain't nobody got time to put the darker shade in their crease! That special effort is reserved for weddings and Christmas. Only!
6. Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara!
I have raved about this product so many times it's crazy! I love the length and separation (sounds like my lashes got a divorce!) this gives my eyelashes. I'm not a big fan of Maybelline The Falsies, I find it makes my lashes very voluminous and kinda clumpy. Not a great look for school! I am also a fan of the bulky packaging, not really sure why?!
7. To top everything off... Baby Lips!
So many people love these and rightly so! They are moisturising, make my lips glossy and they taste really nice. (Believe me! I've tried.) They are £2.99 in Boots and Superdrug, which is great because they last for-absolutely-ever! They also come in different colours! I. Need. Then. All.
I hope you enjoyed reading through that! It means so much to me that you read my blog posts, you are awesome! For some reason iMove hates me and has deleted my Weekly Vlog #2 twice now! Don't worry, it's coming soon! Love ya, Erin xxxxxxx
Hello people of the universe! As you are reading this I will be in a car on my way to a fun-park-theme-park-candyfloss-rollercoaster YAY! And seeing as I don't have access to any of my drafts, I thought it was about time that I shared the new additions to the 'Little bit 'o' Inspiration' page. Enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed that and are feeling a bit more inspired than when you first started reading this blog post! Tomorrow's forecast is another Weekly Vlog! See you tomorrow!
Before I begin, I should probably clear something up. I am in no way an expert in 'blog post writing'! In fact, quite the opposite, let me set the scene. It's inside a musky local library , the only noise is the tapping of computer keys and the quiet voice of a mum exchanging death threats with her child. (Slight exaggeration, she was actually just telling her to hurry up!) In the corner, surrounded by books on blogging, fashion and holiday romances (I do love a bit of holiday romance!) is a girl with brown cropped hair, sat in a tiny blue children's chair, scribbling furiously in a small notebook. That's me.
I would love to be able to describe a swish, fashionista sitting herself down in front of a clear, tidy desk, setting down a mocha-choca-coffee-latte thing, ready for another blogging sesh. But then I would be lying to you.
The thing is, everyone has their own writing style. Some people keep their posts very factual and 'this-is-what-I-want-to-say-I'm-being-direct', others go down the humorous, chatty, friendly route. This is why I absolutely love reading blogs (and why I have no social life!) cause they are all so different!
My favourite posts to read, are ones when you can see the authors personality shining through the words (I've gone a bit poetic!) and you can see just how much love and effort they've put in. Right. That's enough. I've gotten WAY to emotional about this! Let's pull ourselves together for my...
5 Top Tips on Writing Blog Posts!
1. Avoid writing blog posts at home. This may sound strange, but I find I can get a little bit 'distracted' (and by that I mean buying useless things on Amazon, watching at least 20 YouTUbe videos and eating an ENTIRE pack of seedless grapes) when in the comfort of my own home. #pyjamaparty #DidIJustUseAHashtag? #sorry! My favourite place, as previously mentioned in my very long winded intro, is the library. If you don't have a local library, cafes and oddly churches also work. (I realise that sounds quite creepy!)
2. Know what you want to write before writing it! I am absolutely crap at this and definitely need to practise what I preach on this one! 3. Pictures! Pictures make more of a difference than you might first think!
4. Post at the same time, every time! Although I do upload a post every day, the time... well, let's just say I need to practise that one as well! Pinky promise it'll get better! 5. Don't feel pressured into posting. If you're having a 'blogging funk' and you are feeling really uninspired, don't post that day! Blogging should be fun and enjoyable, don't make it a chore. However, for a little bit of inspiration, I've written you a list (Yes, it's a list inside a list! I'm such a wild child! ) of bloggers that get me rearing to write! (Alliteration to the max!) a) For a chatty, makeup fueled blog post, www.viviannadoesmakeup.com b) For a friendly, beauty/lifestyle pep talk, www.lilypebbles.co.uk c) For all things beauty and makeup, www.pixiwoo.com
Hope you enjoyed this post, it was something a little bit different. See you tomorrow! Love ya, Erin xxxx
Hello people of the universe! We all love a good girly sleepover once in a while. The fun, the secrets, the squeals (There's always one!), the laughter, the FOOD and so much more. So if you are sat reading this, and want to plan a girly sleepover, then DO IT! Now. Right now! Well, after you've read this blog post. However, if you're not planning a girly sleepover-party-food-squeal-delight thing, there's nothing to say that you can't indulge in some 'pre-planning' planning. If you're a weirdo like me, you might actually enjoy planning stuff like parties and sleepovers. Like I said, weirdo. So here are my top 5 very most definitely (Incorrect grammar used for emphasis!) things to do/remember when planning a girly sleepover.
1. Food! It is very important!
I'd love to be able to tell you that I ALWAYS eat healthy and avoid sugar and blah blah blah. But I don't call that 'dieting', I call that torture! All I'm saying, is make sure you have a bag of popcorn, a packet of sweets and a bottle of Coke at hand for your party. Not many people want to be crunching on celery while watching a film. Just saying.
2. Don't over plan stuff!
Being a very 'plan-everything-up-to-the-very-last-minute' kind of a person, it is hard for me to get my head around the concept of only planning a few things to do. If it was up to me there would be a timetable (just me?) and a ton of activities planned. But no. Try to relax during the party, put on some music and just let people talk. As soon as you relax, so will your guests.
3. Time for a face mask!
And there's the beauty! Had to be somewhere in this blog post! If like me, you are a skin care lover - I do know how to have fun don't I - but you don't want to fork out on something as expensive as an Origins face mask, then this is for you. The Simple Kind to Skin Deep Cleansing Face Mask is the stereotypical face mask, the one where you apply it and then have to keep your face still for half an hour (while avoiding scaring any young children) and wait for it to work its magic on you face! It is cheap, cheerful and did leave my skin feeling smoother and looking nicer. Plus it's only £3.99. Bargain.
4. Make sure everyone is going to be warm enough!
Believe me when I say there is nothing worse than being cold at night! Especially at a sleepover. If you are planning on sleeping outside with your friends, a) make sure everyone has a sleeping bag and a blanket, they're gonna need it! And b) make sure the weather isn't like the picture above! What I'm trying to say, is make sure every one is comfortable before you go to sleep. P.S Keep spare blankets in the tents :)
5. Pinterest is a lifesaver!
Feeling uninspired? Pinterest is the place to be. It is a wonderland of picture-knowledge-inspiration-board-of-amazing-awesomeness! But hear my words of warning, you will become obsessed. It's a fact of life. Oh, and don't be surprised to hear yourself say something like "That's so Pinterest!" (I know, it happened! I sound so old!) But seriously, head over to Pinterest if you're not signed up already, you're missing out. Big time!
I hope you enjoyed that and found it somehow helpful/entertaining! Thanks so much for reading and I'll see you tomorrow! Love ya, Erin xxxx

Hello people of the universe! Fashion is expensive. And forever changing. Put that together and you get a lot of money spent on stuff that only lasts as long as the trend. But what about those 'timeless classics' that will last you years to come? Well, I spent hours looking through popular high street shops (from the comfort of my laptop, thank god for online shopping!) looking for cheap fashion items that will last you for A/W's to come. Enjoy!
1. Chunky Knit Jumpers
Warm, cosy and generally amazing! Chunky jumpers are a must have for the colder months!
Next - Boxy Sweater (£20 - £26 depending on size) I know they say save the best till last, but I absolutely adore this sweater! It is so Christmassy (I know! I said the C word!) and just perfect for wearing around the house! Not too sure about the photo location though?! I mean, a beach?! Really?!
Topshop - Asymmetric V-Neck Sweater (£18.00) Being a very neutral colours girl, this was right up my street! It doesn't look particularly warm, but what it lacks in 'cosiness' it makes up in versatility and general gorgeousness!
Topshop (Yes. Again!) - Links Knitted Jumper (£38.00) Not the cheapest, I've got to admit! But I absolutely love the colour of this! It looks so warm, cosy and practical!
2. The classic coat! (Always a winner)
Next - Textured Double Breasted Blazer (£50) This is such a 'casual chic' item of clothing, which could even be worn with a vest and jeans to dress it up! (Provided the weather isn't too horrific!) I am in love with the navy blue colour and the versatility of this item! Again, what's up with the tropical background?!
Topshop - Short Padded Parka Jacket (£78.00) Jackets are expensive. And this one is no exception. But, my god, it is beautiful, and it comes in two colours! You have no idea how happy that makes me! It looks so warm and perfect for when it gets really cold. The faux fur along the top (removable, if you're not into that kinda thing) just makes me love it even more. :)
New Look - Black Button Front Hooded Coat (£34.99) This is just the classic autumn coat. I'm not too sure whether it would be warm enough for winter, but really good for autumn, plus this style never gets old. I love the collar, front buttons and the fit of this coat. It is, quite frankly, classically awesome!
3. Autumn/Winter Accessories
Essie - Autumn/Winter Nail Polish Colours As a 'nailaholic' (yes, I just said that!) it was super hard for me to pick my top 3 favourite autumn/winter colours. But here they are:
Raspberry
Bahama mama
Bobbing for baubles (available in Boots)
Socks - I found this really cool website called ModCloth and they sell the most AMAZING socks ever! And everyone knows winter is all about cozy/funky socks: www.modcloth.com/shop/socks
Toast socks
Pencil socks
Shark-biting-your-leg socks
Junk food socks
Ballet socks
Unicorn socks
Wizard of Oz, ruby slippers socks
Pugs!
Gum balls
Panda socks
But seriously, check them out! They're awesome! I hope you enjoyed this! It was very fun looking at all the websites, pretending I was a millionaire, ya' know, the norm :) See you tomorrow! Love ya, Erin xxxx
